Our Philosophy and Approach
Our nursery has been purpose-built to provide a homely, secure, safe space for children. Each location has key components that have been created for different age groups and offers a space dedicated to unique needs and development level. This includes a large outdoor space, indoor soft play and beautifully designed sensory rooms at our Cwmdu location and modern indoor spaces which is also reflected outdoors, where we have a large wrap-around area. This enables us to blend indoor and outdoor learning.

We believe family involvement is essential for a child's development, and we work closely with parents to support their child’s growth through regular communication and offer flexible care options, school-run support, and additional programs like holiday clubs to strengthen the connection between home and nursery.

Through regular training and reflective practice, our professional growth programme helps staff continually improve and maintain the highest standards of care. Our Story
How It All Began
Tŷ Hapus was founded in 2016 with a clear vision: to provide high-quality, accessible childcare for families in Swansea. Louise & Claire are, driven by a passion for early childhood education, recognized the need for a childcare setting that offers not only exceptional care but also a curriculum that nurtures a child’s emotional, social, and intellectual development.
Over the years, Tŷ Hapus has grown to become a trusted name in childcare, with two nursery locations in Cwmdu and Tan-Y-Lan, each offering a unique yet complementary approach to learning. Our commitment to excellence has been recognised through multiple awards and continuous improvements in our facilities, staff development, and educational practices and our Excellent rated settings by Care Inspector Wales.

Each staff member is selected not only for their qualifications but also for their ability to connect with children and families in meaningful ways. We believe in continuous professional development, ensuring our team stays ahead of the latest educational practices and research. All staff undergo regular training in child protection, safeguarding, paediatric first aid, and food hygiene.
Parent Partnerships
Working Together for Your Child
At Tŷ Hapus, we believe that strong partnerships with parents are key to a child’s success. We work closely with families, sharing regular updates on your child’s progress, achievements, and any milestones they reach. We offer open communication with an open door policy as well as once a month we host open days where parents can make an appointment to discuss development and progress, and a parent app for real-time updates.
We are also active in the community, hosting regular events, workshops, and celebrations that allow families to come together and get involved in their child’s learning journey.
